Program Overview

LAMA is a 9-session competency-based leadership development program (American College of Health Care Executives, American Organization for Nurse Leaders, and Harvard Business Review) tailored toward interprofessional, mid-level leaders designed to:

  • Facilitate role transition
  • Standardize leadership training amongst disciplines
  • Build interprofessional peer networks for future support
  • Promotes healthy-work culture

Program Details

  • 9 in-person sessions over 9-month period from 7:30am-3:30pm @ The Center for Education, Research, and Professional Development located at 1850 Embarcadero Rd., Palo Alto (Attendance required 8 of 9 sessions, 1st session attendance mandatory)
  • Completion of leadership project by end of program
  • Program Coordinators: 
    • Mojgan Haririfar PhD, RN, NPD-BC, FNP-BC, CCTC, Watson Caring Science Caritas Coach® 
    • Lizza May Garcia, MSN, RN, NPD-BC

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be in a new mid-level leadership role at SHC within the last 2 years
  • 3 years leadership position outside SHC in most recent role or 1 year in current leadership position at SHC
  • Have Direct Reports or Budget Management/Fiscal responsibility in current leadership role
  • Prerequisite: New Leader Onboarding (NLO) attendance (for Leaders with Direct Reports)

Application Requirements:

  • Resume or CV
  • Letter of Intent (750 word limit)
  • Attestation from your direct supervisor supporting your participation and commitment to complete the program
